Amazon Publisher Services
Amazon Publisher Services is Amazon's suite of advertising technology for web, mobile app, streaming television, and audio publishers. Its offerings help eligible publishers add incremental auction demand, manage integrations, improve yield, and maintain user-experience controls, with Transparent Ad Marketplace and Unified Ad Marketplace serving different publisher profiles and a Prebid adapter expanding implementation options. It is most relevant to established publishers that want Amazon and partner demand competing alongside existing waterfalls or header bidding arrangements without replacing their full ad server.
What it does
Amazon Publisher Services (APS) lets eligible web, app, CTV, and audio publishers add Amazon and partner demand to their existing monetization setup without ripping out their ad server. Through Transparent Ad Marketplace, publishers route their server-side header-bidding auction through APS so additional buyers, including Amazon's, compete on each impression while the publisher keeps fee transparency and control of the auction. Unified Ad Marketplace offers a more managed, simplified path for smaller publishers. APS handles the connections, cloud infrastructure, and latency optimization of running these auctions server-side, and a Prebid adapter widens implementation choices. The goal is incremental yield and competitive pressure on existing waterfalls or header-bidding partners, layered onto rather than replacing the publisher's primary ad stack.
Where it fits
APS plugs into the setup stage of a publisher's monetization stack, adding server-side demand alongside an existing ad server or header-bidding wrapper.
Core features
- Transparent Ad Marketplace for server-side header bidding with fee visibility
- Unified Ad Marketplace as a managed path for smaller publishers
- Access to Amazon and third-party demand competing on each impression
- Server-side auction infrastructure that reduces page latency
- Prebid adapter and integrations across web, app, CTV, and audio
Best for
- Established publishers adding incremental auction demand
- Sites already running header bidding that want more competition
- Multi-format publishers spanning web, app, and streaming
Beginner notes
- APS supplements your stack; you still need a primary ad server such as Google Ad Manager to make final decisions.
- Eligibility and approval are required, and the strongest gains come to sites with meaningful, consistent traffic.
- Measure incremental revenue against any added latency or fees, not just the headline demand, before expanding integrations.
